Hollywood Smile in Dubai for UK Patients

A Hollywood smile changes many teeth at once, so it deserves careful planning. This page explains what it involves for UK patients travelling to Manhal Medical Center in Dubai.

Hollywood Smile in Dubai for UK Patients

What a Hollywood smile actually means

A Hollywood smile is a popular name, not a specific procedure. It usually means veneers or crowns on most of the teeth visible when you smile, often eight to ten per arch, sometimes combined with whitening, gum contouring or replacement of old crowns. Because it changes many teeth together, it is a bigger commitment than a few veneers. At Manhal Medical Center planning starts with your face, lips and bite rather than a shade chart, so the result suits you rather than a photograph.

Natural or very white: decide before you travel

Some UK patients want an obviously bright smile, while others want something nobody will recognise as dental work. Both are possible, but the choice affects shade, translucency and tooth shape. Send photographs of smiles you like and dislike along with your records. During the design appointment in Dubai the dentist can show a mock-up so you can judge the look against your skin tone and face. Changing your mind after preparation is difficult, so take your time at this stage.

How long the treatment takes

A full-smile case usually needs around two to three weeks in Dubai, and is sometimes split across two trips. Time is needed for the examination, any gum or filling treatment, preparation and temporaries, laboratory work, fitting and a review. Cases that also replace missing teeth with implants take longer and are staged over months. The clinic gives an estimated timeline after reviewing your X-rays and photographs, and it is wise to book travel only once that estimate is clear.

Living with temporaries in Dubai

Between preparation and fitting you wear temporary veneers or crowns. They look presentable but are not as strong as the final work, so avoid very hard or sticky food and go easy on coffee and red wine. Many patients plan gentle activities for this phase: the beach, the old town around Al Fahidi, or an evening desert trip. Avoid contact sports and chew carefully. If a temporary comes loose, contact the clinic on WhatsApp at +971 52 987 2411.

Back in the UK

You return with a treatment summary listing each restored tooth, the materials and shades used, and copies of photographs and X-rays. Show this to your UK dentist at your next check-up. A night guard is often advised, especially if you clench or grind. Regular hygiene visits matter even more after a full-smile makeover, because gum health around the edges of the restorations affects how the result ages. Questions about the restorations can be sent to Manhal Medical Center at any time.

Honest limits

A Hollywood smile cannot correct a significantly misaligned bite on its own, and over-preparing teeth to force alignment is a poor trade. In some cases orthodontic treatment first, such as Invisalign with Consultant Orthodontist Dr. Moaiyad Pacha, gives a better long-term result with less tooth reduction. The clinic will tell you if this applies to you. Porcelain is durable but not permanent: restorations may need repair or replacement in future, and no clinic can honestly promise a lifetime result.

Like many people, I don't enjoy the dentist. For many years I avoided visits out of fear. I found Manhal 15 years ago, and he is a wonderful dentist. Calming presence. Excellent implantology as well as other dental work. I have recommended him personally to many friends, and will continue to do so. I just hope he doesn't ever retire. When I have been overseas with dental problems, I have flown back to Dubai specifically to see him. Could not imagine ever going to another dentist.
