How Dubai Dental Treatment Works for UK Patients
Many patients from the UK combine a trip to Dubai with dental, orthodontic or skin treatment. This page explains how the process works at Manhal Medical Center, from your first message to follow-up back home.

Step 1: send your records from the UK
Most UK patients start by emailing the clinic or sending a WhatsApp message to +971 52 987 2411 with photographs of their smile, a short description of what bothers them and any recent X-rays. If your NHS or private dentist has taken a panoramic X-ray or CBCT scan in the last year or two, ask the practice for a digital copy; you are entitled to request your own records. A dentist at Manhal Medical Center reviews what you send and replies with initial thoughts and the questions an in-person examination will need to answer.
Step 2: a provisional plan and the number of trips
From your records the clinic can usually outline the likely treatment, how many days it may take and whether one or more trips are needed. Whitening or a check-up fits into a few days; veneers usually need one to three weeks; implants are normally split across two trips several months apart. This is a provisional plan only. Nothing is final until you have been examined in Dubai, and the plan can change once the dentist sees your teeth, gums and bite in person.
Time difference and flight length
Dubai is four hours ahead of the UK in winter and three hours ahead during British Summer Time, because the UAE does not change its clocks. Direct flights from London take about seven hours, and there are direct routes from several other UK cities, including Manchester, Birmingham and Glasgow. Overnight flights land in the morning, so many patients keep their arrival day free and book the examination for the following day, when they are rested and better able to discuss their options calmly.
Step 3: examination and treatment in Dubai
The first appointment includes a full examination, photographs, a digital scan and any X-rays needed. For cosmetic work, Dr. Manhal Helfawee and the team may show a digital design or mock-up so you can see the proposed shape before any tooth is prepared. Surgical steps such as complex extractions or bone grafting may involve Dr. Moataz Al-Khan, Specialist Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. Appointments are scheduled around your departure date, with a final check booked before you fly home.
Step 4: back in the UK
Before you leave you receive written aftercare instructions, a treatment summary and copies of your X-rays and scans. For implants this includes the system and component details your UK dentist needs for maintenance. You remain free to see your regular NHS or private dentist for check-ups and hygiene, and the clinic can answer follow-up questions by email or WhatsApp. Anything urgent, such as swelling with a fever, should be seen by a local dentist, GP or NHS 111 first.
What the clinic does not arrange
Manhal Medical Center is a clinic, not a travel agent. We do not arrange visas, flights, hotels or airport transfers, and we have no hotel partnerships. Check current entry requirements for British passport holders through official UAE or UK government sources before you book. Fees depend on the examination and are not published on this website, so ask the clinic about costs and payment once your provisional plan is ready. UK dental insurance plans rarely cover elective treatment abroad, so check with your provider.

International patientsQuestions patients ask
How does dental treatment in Dubai work for someone living in the UK?
At Manhal Medical Center in Dubai, UK patients usually start with a remote review of photographs and X-rays, then travel for an in-person examination and treatment. The number of trips depends on the treatment: often one for veneers or whitening, usually two for implants.
Can I get a quote before I fly from the UK?
Manhal Medical Center in Dubai can give a provisional plan from your records, but fees are confirmed only after the clinical examination. Ask the clinic directly about costs and payment options for your case.
Do I need to tell my UK dentist I'm having treatment in Dubai?
It helps, and Manhal Medical Center in Dubai provides a treatment summary and copies of your records so your UK dentist can continue routine care. Many patients also ask their UK practice for existing X-rays before travelling.
Will the NHS fix problems with dental work done in Dubai?
Manhal Medical Center in Dubai cannot speak for the NHS, but NHS dentistry generally covers clinically necessary care rather than cosmetic work. Questions about your Dubai treatment should go to the clinic first, and urgent problems should be seen locally straight away.
Is my medical information protected if I send it from the UK?
Manhal Medical Center in Dubai uses your records only for your care and shares them with other clinicians only with your consent. If you are used to UK GDPR rights, ask the clinic how your records are stored and how to request copies.
Does the clinic help with flights or hotels?
No, Manhal Medical Center in Dubai does not arrange visas, flights, hotels or transfers. Patients book their own travel, ideally after the provisional plan confirms how many days they need.

Like many people, I don't enjoy the dentist. For many years I avoided visits out of fear. I found Manhal 15 years ago, and he is a wonderful dentist. Calming presence. Excellent implantology as well as other dental work. I have recommended him personally to many friends, and will continue to do so. I just hope he doesn't ever retire. When I have been overseas with dental problems, I have flown back to Dubai specifically to see him. Could not imagine ever going to another dentist.this was my first visit to Dr Manhal after recomendation from my husband, i needed his consultation after i visited more than one doctor in Lebanon with no luck, i am glad i visited him, he is very professional the clinic is very clean with great staffAmazing service and very friendly team I'm very happy with my dental implant results with Dr.Manhal ❤️
