Remote Second Opinion From a Dubai Dental Clinic

If you have been given a treatment plan and are unsure about it, a second opinion can help you ask better questions. Manhal Medical Center in Dubai reviews plans remotely, with clear limits on what a remote review can conclude.

Remote Second Opinion From a Dubai Dental Clinic

When a second opinion helps

Patients ask for second opinions when a plan seems more extensive than expected, when they are offered extractions and implants for teeth that feel fine, when veneers are proposed for crooked teeth, or when orthodontic options differ between clinics. A second view can confirm the plan, suggest alternatives or highlight questions worth asking. It is not about proving another clinician wrong: dentists often disagree for sound reasons, and understanding why helps you make an informed choice.

What to send

Send the written treatment plan you were given, recent X-rays and any CBCT scan as full DICOM files, clear photographs of your teeth from the front and both sides, and a short description of your concerns and goals. Include relevant medical history and medicines. For orthodontic opinions, add photographs of your profile and bite and any previous records. For skin concerns, photographs taken in natural light help. Use email or WhatsApp at +971 52 987 2411.

Who reviews it

The review goes to the most relevant clinician. Implant, full-arch and cosmetic plans may be reviewed by Dr. Manhal Helfawee; orthodontic, MARPE and airway questions by Consultant Orthodontist Dr. Moaiyad Pacha; surgical plans such as wisdom tooth or complex extractions by Dr. Moataz Al-Khan, Specialist Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon; and skin, hair or filler concerns by Specialist Dermatologist Dr. Abdullah Anis. Ask the clinic how long a review is likely to take for your case.

What a remote review can and cannot do

A remote review can comment on whether a plan seems reasonable based on the records provided, point out alternatives and identify missing information. It cannot replace a clinical examination: tooth mobility, gum health, the bite and many skin conditions need to be assessed in person. A remote opinion is not a diagnosis, and no treatment should be started or stopped on that basis alone. If something urgent is visible in your records, you will be advised to seek local care promptly.

Privacy and consent

Your records are used only to provide the opinion and are not shared without your consent. If you are sending records from the UK or the EU, you may be used to GDPR rights; in Dubai, records are handled under UAE health data rules. Ask the clinic how files are stored, and leave out information you are not comfortable sharing. You do not have to tell your current dentist you are seeking a second opinion, though many patients find an open conversation helpful.

What happens next

You receive a written response summarising the opinion, questions to discuss with your dentist and, where relevant, what an in-person assessment in Dubai would involve. There is no obligation to have treatment at Manhal Medical Center. Some patients take the opinion back to their own dentist; others decide to visit Dubai for an examination. Ask the clinic in advance whether a fee applies to remote reviews, so there are no surprises before the review begins.

Like many people, I don't enjoy the dentist. For many years I avoided visits out of fear. I found Manhal 15 years ago, and he is a wonderful dentist. Calming presence. Excellent implantology as well as other dental work. I have recommended him personally to many friends, and will continue to do so. I just hope he doesn't ever retire. When I have been overseas with dental problems, I have flown back to Dubai specifically to see him. Could not imagine ever going to another dentist.
