What to Bring for Treatment in Dubai
Arriving with the right documents and supplies makes appointments smoother and recovery easier. Use this checklist before you travel to Dubai for treatment at Manhal Medical Center.

Identification and registration
Bring your passport, as clinics in Dubai register patients using official identification; UAE residents use their Emirates ID. Have your contact details and a WhatsApp-enabled phone number ready, so the clinic can reach you during your stay. If someone will accompany you, especially after surgery, share their name and number with the clinic. Keep copies of your appointment confirmations and the clinic's address to hand: Office 101, SMJ1 Building, Street 22A, Al Safa 1, Dubai.
Dental and medical records
Bring digital copies of recent X-rays and CBCT scans, ideally the full DICOM files on a USB stick or in a cloud folder, plus any reports. Include details of previous treatment, implant cards from earlier work and orthodontic records if relevant. A written medical history helps: conditions, allergies, operations and anything that affects healing. If you have already sent records by email or WhatsApp, bring them anyway, in case a file did not open or a higher-quality copy is needed.
Medicines
Pack enough of your regular medicines for the whole stay plus a few extra days, in original packaging and in your hand luggage, with a copy of the prescription. The UAE has strict rules on some medicines, including certain strong painkillers, sedatives and ADHD medication, and some require prior approval before you travel. Check current rules through official UAE sources. Tell the clinic in advance about blood thinners, diabetes medicines and bone-strengthening medicines, as they affect dental planning.
For recovery after treatment
If you are having surgery, pack soft foods you like, a reusable water bottle, a soft toothbrush and lip balm; ice packs are easy to find locally. Loose, comfortable clothing helps on treatment days, and sunglasses and a hat are useful after facial procedures. Bring any night guard or retainer you already wear, as it may need checking or replacing after treatment. A small notebook or phone note helps you record questions and instructions as you go.
Payment and paperwork
Ask the clinic in advance about the fees for your plan and the payment methods it accepts; do not assume a particular card or currency will be suitable. Tell your bank you are travelling. If you intend to claim from an insurer, bring any forms they require and ask the clinic for itemised invoices and a treatment report. Keep travel insurance documents easy to reach, and store all receipts and your treatment summary together for later reference.
Things that make the trip easier
A phone plan or eSIM with data helps with ride-hailing, maps and WhatsApp messages from the clinic. The UAE uses the three-pin type G socket familiar to UK visitors, so others may need an adapter. In summer, plan for intense heat and always carry water. During Ramadan, check clinic hours before each appointment. Finally, bring a written list of questions for the consultation, because it is easy to forget them after a long flight.

What we don't arrange
- We do not arrange visas, flights, hotels or airport transfers
- A final treatment plan always depends on the in-person examination
- Some treatments — such as implants and orthodontics — need more than one visit or local follow-up

Like many people, I don't enjoy the dentist. For many years I avoided visits out of fear. I found Manhal 15 years ago, and he is a wonderful dentist. Calming presence. Excellent implantology as well as other dental work. I have recommended him personally to many friends, and will continue to do so. I just hope he doesn't ever retire. When I have been overseas with dental problems, I have flown back to Dubai specifically to see him. Could not imagine ever going to another dentist.this was my first visit to Dr Manhal after recomendation from my husband, i needed his consultation after i visited more than one doctor in Lebanon with no luck, i am glad i visited him, he is very professional the clinic is very clean with great staffAmazing service and very friendly team I'm very happy with my dental implant results with Dr.Manhal ❤️
